Types of sound

In all films there will be two different types of sound we will hear. One being diegetic and the other non-diegetic. Diegetic sound is everything we hear in a film that a character should be able to hear for it to seem realistic. This can be anything from a car horn to a song being played on a radio. Everything sound that is diegetic should fit within the origin of what on going on. Whereas, non-diegetic is sound that is added into the scene in which the character wouldn't normally hear for example a voice over.
